'Takabuti' stabbed to death in Egyptian mummy

The mysterious death of a mummy 2,600 years ago was discovered in 2020. A woman’s mummy was found in 1834 in an ancient tomb in West Thebes, Egypt. The mummy was bought from Egypt at a high price by Thomas Gregg, an art collector in Hollywood, Northern Ireland. The arrival of the mummy in Ireland caused a stir throughout Hollywood. Then in 1835 Thomas Gregg handed over the mummy to the Ulster Museum.

In 1835, the famous Egyptian archaeologist Edward Hinks examined the mummy from Egypt. The hieroglyphic inscription above the coffin about the woman inside the coffin is the name of the woman inside the coffin, Takabuti. He was 20-30 years old at the time of his death. Takabuti is the daughter of an aristocratic family. According to historians, she was the wife or mistress of an aristocratic family. Takabuti’s father’s name was Nesper. Who was a priest of the god Amun. Mother’s name was Tasenirik.

Archaeologist Edward Hinks was shocked when the bandage was removed from the mummy’s body. In his experience he had never seen such a mummy before. Takabuti became famous for her unusually blackface and golden hair. Many poems and songs were written about him at that time. Takabuti died in Egypt at the end of the 25th dynasty. At that time, it was known in the face reconstruction method what Takabuti looked like while he was alive. But the real cause of death was still unknown.

In January of this year, a group of researchers said that Takabuti was killed. Everything in Takabuti has been tested in a sophisticated manner. DNA tests have also been done. CT scan showed deep wounds on the left side of the back. According to archaeologists, the beauty was killed with a sharp knife. Most surprisingly, no similarities were found between the Egyptian genes and Takabuti’s DNA.

The Europeans have similarities with that mummy gene. So how is Takabuti buried in a mummy in Egypt! In what way did the Egyptian priest become his father? Archaeologists are still struggling to gather enough evidence before reaching the final conclusions about the status quo. Many questions are being raised about this in the historical circles of different parts of the world.
