Trump became the first American president to be impeached twice.

After the president incited a violent crowd to storm the Capitol last week, resulting in five deaths, the House voted to impeach Donald Trump on incitement charges to rebellion.

The final vote was 232-197, with the bill being endorsed by 10 House Republicans.

Trump has been the first president ever to be impeached twice by the House in US history.

The matter is now going to go before the Senate, determining whether to prosecute and expel Trump from office.

After Joe Biden takes office, the trial would presumably end anyway, but a conviction will prohibit Trump from running for president again.
